Three hearts
A hero has three lives, shown in the Castle. Losing a fight lets you return home, and that return spends a life. Rare revival items and the Renewal Crystal from SAKURA are reported restore tools. Read the item. Do not assume a crystal rebuilds level and gear by itself.
What stays
These account systems are described as surviving a dead hero:
- Repaired Castle buildings, including Blacksmith, Alchemist, Inn, Ranch, and Shrine of Oaths.
- Items and Gold deposited at the Inn.
- Pets that were hatched and left at the Ranch.
- Hall of Lineage rank. Guides mention a permanent percent to Attack, Magic, Defense, and HP per rank. One recap prints +4.66% and another marks that figure unverified. The Hall tooltip is the number to trust. Hero level is widely capped at 50, with Hall rank continuing past that.
What the reports disagree on
Written guides say a hero at zero lives is deleted, including the talent on that hero and anything still in that inventory. Player replies on a progression video say a wipe keeps race and talent, drops level and carried gear, and does not let you change class without a new hero. Both can be describing different buttons. Read the prompt that is actually on screen. The action everyone agrees on is the same: at one life, strip valuable gear into the Inn before the next champion, boss, or difficulty jump.
Code lives sit with the account. Check the inbox or the life counter after you redeem 0y0, COMMUNITY!, or SAKURA. A code life does not refill a hero you already deleted.
